Football.London’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold believes the club will explore a possible move for Thomas Meunier in the summer.
The PSG right-back has a contract that expires at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has made 24 appearances for the club this season but he could well be available in the summer transfer window.
While Gold reports that Spurs’ top target for the position is Norwich City’s Max Aarons, he claims that a move for Meunier could be seen as a potential alternative.
No clues whatsoever: Which seasons do these iconic Spurs images belong to?
Spurs are said to have watched the Belgian before and have bought from PSG before, signing Serge Aurier from the club in 2017.
And Gold believes that there is a realistic possibility Jose Mourinho’s side could try to sign Meunier on a free transfer, though he says there are likely to be a number of clubs interested.
He wrote: “Tottenham will look at Meunier if Aarons is out of reach but there will be competition for his signature.”
Spurs only have Aurier as a senior right-back, having allowed Kyle Walker-Peters to move to Southampton on loan in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ Player of the Season should be clear!
