Taylor said: "The main consideration was my responsibility is to decide if De Ligt is seriously injured or not. In this situation because he's sitting up I don't consider that serious and allowed the game to continue. It's probably more a foul on [Yoane] Wissa than the other way."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Premier League referees are generally asked to consider a serious injury as a knock to the head, otherwise the game will be allowed to continue. Brentford went on to win the game 4-3 and ensure they will finish above United this season.
